27 Oct Watch: Bystanders break up homophobic attack at Dallas airport
A video has emerged which appears to show a man tackled to the floor by bystanders after attempting a homophobic assault.
The clip, which surfaced online yesterday, was filmed in Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
It shows a man in a white t-shirt – who is acting erratically and appears to be drunk – bellowing anti-gay slurs at a fellow passenger.
When another man wearing a cowboy hat approaches to ask what he’s upset about, the man says: “Queers is what I’m upset about. This faggot right here.
“Shove it up your a**, man, see how that feels, you might get tickled. F***ing queer.”

He then attempts to kick and punch the man he directed the slurs at – but a number of bystanders rush to intervene, tackling him to the ground almost immediately.
As he’s wrestled to the ground, security guards appear to handcuff him and remove him from the airport.
The footage was captured by traveller Andrew Kennedy, whose brother Neil Kennedy said: “We saw a very troubled man… we hope that he was under the influence of some kind of substance because if he wasn’t and that’s his true personality then he’s going to have a long run in front of him.
“I’m glad that we live in a society with a justice system and a social system to help him out. Take a long hard look in the mirror and find your maker.”
Dallas-Fort Worth Airport confirmed that the incident took place, but would not comment further.
