03 Aug First gay pride parade to be held in Macedonia in 2013
Last Thursday, the committee of the organization LGBT United decided to form an organizational body for the first gay pride parade inMacedoniawhich is planed to take place next year.
The statement of LGBT United says: “All of the relevant organizations and institutions that work on the field of human rights, like embassies, state agencies, the ombudsman and LGBT organizations from the region and world wide will be invited to join this body”
According to the report of Igla Europe, on these year’s International Day against Homophobia andTransphobia,Macedoniawas ranked among the countries likeArmenia,AzerbaijanandUkrainewhich have the lowest level of recognition of the LGBT rights.
“Macedonia is on the bottom of the European list of respecting LGBT rights, because the government’s majority constantly misuses the human rights of the LGBT persons intentionally mobilizing the negative stereotypes, prejudices and discriminatory altitudes of the citizens” – said Zarko Trajanoski, the Coalition’s human rights consultant.
