MANJA VELICHKOVSKA
Manja Velichkovska (b. 1995) has a BA in philology from the Department of General and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Philology “Blaže Koneski” at UKIM in Skopje, and received a MPhil in the field of Aesthetics from the Department of Philosophy at the same university. Velichkovska is an interdisciplinary researcher, with an interest in contemporary literary, social and political theory.
She has been working at the Margins Coalition since 2019, and is now holding the position of a project coordinator and researcher, with a focus on the rights of LGBTIQ people, institutional violence and gender equality. She is a member of the Grant Committee for the Global Fund for Women in the Balkans Network. Her expertise extends to qualitative research and writing, grant decision-making, and advocacy aimed at improving the sexual and health rights, legal and social position of marginalized communities.
She is part of the organizing team of the Festival for Queer Culture, Art and Theory – Skopje Pride Weekend, and is active in the work of the regional group “Rebelled Readers” which organizes the regional literary selection “Štefica Cvek”. Additionally, she is a member of JADRO – Association of the Independent Cultural Scene.
