07 Dec Tamara Adrian is the first transgender MP in Venezuela!
Historic day and historic win for the transgender people! This Sunday, December 6th, the LGBTI activist and the first trasgender candidate in the history of politics in Venezuela, Tamara Adrian, was elected MP together with 167 other parliamentarians.
On the voting bill, the citizens had the chance to vote for Thomas, that is, the name that appears on the ID card of the 61 year old lawyer, who has had a sex change 15 years ago.
Adrian was elected as a candidate in Caracas for the Voluntad Popular, one of the 27 parties which for the MUC coalition.
