06 Mar Society, gender, sexuality, sexual health and MSM in Macedonia
On the 6th of March HERA held a public presentation of the publication “Society, gender, sexuality, sexual health and MSM in Macedonia” in which participants were Ninislav Mladenovic, counselor of the resident UN coordinator for HIV/AIDS UNAIDS focal contact, Slavco Dimitrov, author of the study and executive director of the Coalition ‘Sexual and Health Rights of Marginalized Communities’ and Drasko Kostovski, second author and program director of HERA.
This study aims to ensure a description and grounded analysis of the different gender and sex identities, the sexual behavior and practice, and the sexual health needs of the men who have sex with men in different socio-cultural environments in Macedonia.
The main actors who are responsible for the creation of future interventions in the prevention of HIV, the experts concerning gender issues and the LGBTIK rights, representative from the civil sector and the authorities from the state institutions, the organizations of the UN ans the Universities also took part in the discussion. The publication was made possible with the technical and financial support of the United Nations Development Program.
